Sunday 27th July 10 - 4 ON THE DAY Join Louise Arthur for a wonderful day of willow weaving, guided by her patient and encouraging teaching style. During this all-day workshop, Louise will take you through each step, from creating the frame of these useful baskets to adding ribs that form the bowl and weaving with thin, flexible rods. With her supportive approach, you will feel confident as you bring your basket to life. All the willow is grown either in Hampshire or Somerset. Weeks in advance of the workshop the willow will be prepared by soaking and will be ready for your use. These charming rustic frame baskets help bring a bit our beautiful countryside into the home. LUNCH You are welcome to bring your own lunch, or treat yourself to a delicious £12.50 meal provided by The Goring Grocer, known for their exceptional food. The lunch includes a generous slice of quiche, seasonal salad, and a homemade sweet treat. Hot drinks and biscuits will be available all day. TOOLS AND MATERIALS All tools and material are provided ADVISORY NOTE Basket-making requires strength and manual dexterity. If you have joint or wrist problems please seek advice from Louise before booking. WHAT TO BRING Please bring an apron if you can TAKE HOME Your own handmade willow basket made in a day. She works with willow and rush, carefully sourcing her materials to ensure the highest quality.
